In the sector Impressioning Technique [the filing of keys] again, we chose a identically pinned standard ABUS C83. Out 36 competitors, 11 opened successfully. Champion Barry wasn't able to defend his last year's 05:13 (min:sec) record. Champion Oliver Diederichsen from Hamburg was the first to open in the new record time of 04:23 (min:sec) and became once more German Champon in Impressioning. We compliment him on this outstanding achievement.

Lock Picking Contest

About 36 international athletes (NL, UK, F & D) took part in the Lock Picking Contest (the opening of cylinder locks only by pick set). With roughly 11 contestants the SSDeV provided the majority of the most renowned international athletes. Even before the final, it was clear that the winner would be German. As last year, none of the international competitors could qualify for the finals!

At Impressioning Technique there were 24 international athletes competing to file a matching key for a identically pinned standard ABUS C83. Jos Weyers became the first to open in the incredible time of 1:27mins. That is world record and almost unbeatable in the future. Congratulations! Furthermore, the opening times have dropped sharply compared to the pentecostal contest in Hamburg.

Freestyle Contest

SicherHaus
Contest Sponsor of Freestyle

In the field of Freestyle [all tools allowed as long as the lock doesn't get damaged] we used brandnew factory packaged Euro-profile cylinders. Again, there were 27 contestants competing in 3 groups of 9 athletes. The best four of each group qualified for the final and the subsequent four for the B-final. The steadiest three athletes were eliminated after the preliminary.

The finals were carried out with 12 athletes and 12 different padlocks. Each group received identical brandnew locks by lot. You score for each opened padlock. If there is a tie on the opened padlocks, the total opening time will be decisive. Since we also used high quality Euro-cylinders, it didn't surprise us that some locks remained locked. Theras simple models were slaughtered in seconds by many athletes.

We were especially pleased about the high standings of some "non-members". It doesn't happen to often that athletes make it up straight to the main final on their first championship. For the first time ever, a "non-member" even managed to grab the crown. Our congratulations!
